SNOWY STORIES
Join us for four days of forest folklore and fun. Campers will explore the snowy hills and forests of Hartley and create crafts related to the stories we share. Story and craft time will be a great way to warm up our fingers and toes after our outdoor adventures.

SNO-VENTURE!
We will be on an adventure this week exploring in the snow! This camp will teach us where snow comes from and who uses it. We will learn all about winter habits of animals and what they are up to this time of year.

Being able to experience winter is a privilege, and there’s no better way to appreciate the season than by truly living in it! Together through games and sensory experiences we will explore how truly magical the cold and snow can be, and along the way build an appreciation for the place we call home.

DEER DETECTIVES
This week we'll let our imaginations soar as we explore the forests of Hartley thru the mind of the deer. We'll let our ears grow big and begin walking on all fours as we track, play games, tell stories, and discover favorite hideouts and foods of these four-legged creatures in the winter months. We'll end the week learning about leather, sinew and bone awls as each camper sews a small buckskin pouch.

TRACKER TRAINING
Discover the wide variety of winter animals Minnesota has to offer. Following clues found in nature, find out where animals live and what they need to do to survive in the frozen forests. Each day we will head out on a hike and play fun nature games while in search of some cold critters.

Join us this week as we search high, low, and in the snow for secret buried treasures and other surprises hidden in and around Hartley Nature Center. In this camp we will go on a scavenger hunt, make our own treasure maps, and enjoy some outdoor adventures.

Slip on your winter clothes for this fun outdoor adventure. We will explore the deep woods, frozen streams, and snowy hills of Hartley Park on foot, skis and/or snowshoes, going places off-limits during the warmer months. We’ll engage in a variety of winter sports and activities learning new ways to enjoy our Minnesota winter.

Ever wonder about winter weather or how snowflakes are made? Why does ice crack or how do frogs survive by being frozen? This camp will explore these and many other questions as we search for the answers while enjoying the park in the wintertime.
