Hartley Halfpints
Hartley Halfpints are taking their first solo steps into the wilds of Hartley Park with opportunities to create, explore and learn in a shortened week. Campers will immerse themselves in one fascinating theme for the entire camp, inspiring wonder and allowing for in-depth, hands-on fun. Campers must be at least three years old and fully toilet trained before camp begins.

Hook, Line and Sinker
After mastering fishing equipment, skills and techniques, we will hit the water of Hartley Park in search of trout, sunfish and bass. Campers will explore the ponds and streams of Hartley by foot and by canoe. And once we have mastered Hartley, we will spend Friday at Wild Rice Lake in search of bigger fish.

Hartley Sampler
If you're having trouble deciding between all of Hartley's fun camps, this is the one for you! We'll cram as many of our favorite Hartley activities into this week as we possibly can. We might put our animal detective skills to the test in the fields and forests of Hartley before gathering supplies to build a cozy fort and heading to the pond to see what life is like underwater. Whatever you like to do at Hartley, you're sure to find it here!

Mountain Biking
Mountain bikers across Duluth already know what you will learn- this park is awesome for biking! We'll learn safety and basic technique before hitting the designated bike trails, then get out there to experience the hills, valleys, bridges and puddles. Each day will also include nature study and team games. *All campers must bring their own bike and helmet each day of camp.

Forest Hideouts
Exploring deeper in the woods of Hartley Park, searching for the perfect place, gathering natural materials, then plan it, build it and use it. Looking at the building techniques of park residents like squirrels, beavers and foxes, we will come up with safe designs to build awesome forts with whatever materials we can find.

A Bird's Life
What's that in the sky? Where do robins go in the winter? This camp is all about birds. From hummingbirds to hawk beaks and talons, birds are some of the coolest animals on the planet. We will watch, call, play and learn what it takes to live like a bird.

Water Engineering
How does a beaver build such an effective dam? Why do rivers move sideways? We will explore both of these questions and more as we dig into learning about water and how it changes the landscape. Campers meet at the Lester Park parking lot off Superior St. Exploring other wild places in Duluth, campers will meet at Lester Park and find perfect spots to play games, swim, catch critters, set up tarps, build forts, safely build fires, cook meals, search for cool rocks, skip rocks, hang out, fish and have a good time together.

Boys in Boats!
Having honed their basic fishing skills on-site, this full-day camp will go a-field, affording campers the opportunity to fish a few of the area's finest lakes and rivers. Highlights will include adventures on Wild Rice Lake and a two day, one night trip to a northern lake. Campers will experience setting up a fishing campsite, cooking over a fire and all skills needed to lead future expeditions.

Girls in the Outdoors!
Join us for a camp designed just for girls! We'll explore both the science and art sides of nature while learning new skills too. Together we'll spend our time hiking, undertaking science investigations, canoeing, creating art projects and venturing out on field trips to hike the Superior Hiking Trail, pick rocks along Lake Superior shore and more. We'll put our new skills to the test when we cook our own camp dinner, have a campfire and campout in Hartley's building Thursday night. Camp runs Mon-Thurs with Thurs overnight; campers will be ready for pick-up 9am Friday morning. Think nature, exploration and new friends!

Voyageur Yurt Camp
Adventurers wanted! The voyageurs were expert canoeists, campers, trappers and traders. This camp will explore all the skills they needed to succeed. We’ll learn basic canoe strokes and how to portage, build a fort, try some animal tracking and practice trading. We’ll end the week with an overnight stay: cook dinner over a campfire, practice no trace camping inside Hartley’s building and go on a night hike. Campers will be ready for pickup at 9AM Friday morning.
