Environment Education Internships

Our interns work among a friendly, dynamic staff that is dedicated to carrying out Hartley Nature Center’s mission. As the area’s only urban nature center, Hartley Nature Center is situated within a beautiful 660 acre city park and serves over 25,000 people annually, including over 10,000 youth through summer camps, school group field trips, public programs and more. We accept resumes year-round and offer a variety of different internships.

Substitute Preschool Teacher

Hartley Nature Preschool is always seeking occasional substitute preschool teachers to support the preschool’s mission of inspiring life-long connections with nature through education, play, and exploration while supporting the whole child’s development.

Site and Facility Manager

The Hartley Nature Center Site and Facility Manager is responsible for facility upkeep and improvement. This includes performing general building, outdoor campus, and equipment maintenance, responding to and planning for facility emergencies, creating a routine maintenance program, researching health and safety regulations and implementing a health and safety program, maintaining communications infrastructure, managing workspaces, managing security, facilitating routine testing and inspections, providing custodial oversight, and creating a property management plan.
