Winter is a pretty big deal here in northern Minnesota and this event celebrates the cold weather season with this chance to enjoy all it gives us- silent woods, groomed trails, iced ponds and snowshoe access to unique areas of the park. Fun seekers will have the chance to join naturalist-led hikes, ski a luminary-lined Hartley cross country trail, try out fat tire biking or kicksledding, enjoy a light dinner from Black Woods Catering, ice skate on Hartley Pond, Bent Paddle beer tasting and warm drinks and dessert in the yurt. Black Woods will also be offering a cash bar during the event. The whole family is welcome to join us or make it a date night on Saturday, February 10 from 4-7pm. You can join us for an additional social hour from 7-8pm.
Because this event has gotten so popular and we have limited space, you are urged to pre-register if you want to attend. You can sign up by stopping in at the Nature Center or calling 724-6735 during business hours. The event is free for Hartley member households, $10 for singles and $35 for non-member households. Event sponsors include Black Woods Catering, Bent Paddle Brewing, The Duluth Experience, Day Tripper and Ski Hut along with HNC sponsors St. Luke’s, Gardner Builders, Casey Carbert and Miller Hill Subaru.
